Description

LL.B. (Law) – 3 Years
Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.) – 3 Years
The Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.) is a professional three-year undergraduate program designed for individuals who already hold a bachelor’s degree in any discipline and wish to pursue a career in law. This program is distinct from the five-year integrated LL.B. courses (such as B.A., LL.B. or B.B.A., LL.B.) which are pursued directly after the 12th grade.
Eligibility criteria
  • Hold a bachelor’s degree (3 or 4 years duration) in any discipline from a university recognized by the Bar Council of India (BCI).
  • Typically, a minimum aggregate score of 50-55% in the qualifying degree is required for the General category, with a relaxation for reserved categories (e.g., 40-45% for SC/ST).
  • There is no upper age limit for applying for the 3-year LL.B. course, according to Toprankers.
  • Candidates appearing for their final year bachelor’s degree exams can also apply, but must have their degree available during the admission process.
Admission process
  • Admission is often based on performance in entrance exams, merit in the qualifying degree, or a combination of both.
  • Popular entrance exams include MH CET Law, CUET-PG, AP LAWCET, TS LAWCET, and university-specific entrance tests like DU LL.B. Entrance Exam or BHU UET.
  • The admission process typically involves applying to the desired colleges, appearing for the entrance exam (if required), participating in counseling sessions, and confirming admission through document verification and fee payment.
  • Some colleges may also conduct interviews or group discussions as part of the selection process.
Curriculum
The 3-year LL.B. curriculum is designed to provide a comprehensive understanding of core legal principles and equip students with the skills necessary for a legal career. It is typically divided into six semesters.
